Denji is a broke young man who works as a devil hunter with his pet devil Pochita to pay off his deceased father's debt to the yakuza. After being betrayed and killed, Pochita merges with Denji's body, transforming him into Chainsaw Man, a human-devil hybrid with chainsaws emerging from his body. Recruited by a government agency, Denji hunts devils in exchange for food, shelter, and the simple pleasures he's always dreamed of.

MAPPA's adaptation is very faithful with impressive animation. The anime captures Fujimoto's unique style well, though some prefer the manga's raw art. No significant content is skipped.
Denji faces the climax of the Katana Man arc and enters the shocking Bomb Girl arc, where he encounters the Bomb Devil in one of the series' most explosive battles. Part 1 continues with increasingly intense devil battles leading to a devastating finale before Part 2 begins with a new protagonist.
